It’s graduation time here at PIHT for our Medical Assisting students, but today our faculty was surprised with a graduation of our own! Six of our graduating medical assisting students sent us an email asking to meet them at 10 a.m. in one of our classrooms. When we arrived, we were greeted with the response, “Welcome to YOUR Graduation!” and presented with beads and a full breakfast of fresh fruit, bagels, coffee and cupcakes in the shape of PIHT. This special group of students also made drawstring cloth bags for our teachers with their names and gifts inside. These ladies have been a special part of PIHT for the past 18 months, participating in the student event club, volunteering at last year’s graduation as ambassadors, and were instrumental in keeping morale and student involvement high during special events and holidays. Kimberly Prinkey was our “graduation speaker” and said the following,
“Teachers lay the foundation of knowledge and education in every person’s life. They not only educate us academically, but also teach us the lessons of life. This is a very emotional day for all of us as we are getting promoted to a new life, on one hand, and leaving behind our favorite place and favorite people, on the other.
We would like to thank every single one of you for teaching and preparing us to succeed in the medical field. You all have been a totem of strength and a great pillar of support to all of us. All of you have been as strict as a father and as loving as a mother, equally caring as a friend, a strict disciplinarian and yet always so approachable. You all are wonderful human beings that have accepted each and every one of our flaws and weaknesses and helped and prepared us to overcome them. So, from all of us, thank you! We appreciate everything that you have done for us!”
Kimmy, Tiffany, Tricia, Daisy, Ema, and Teresa, THANK YOU for the privilege of teaching such awesome and dedicated students. We wish you all the best and look forward to keeping in touch and seeing your success! We love you all!
